Irish bioenergy solutions supplier Imperative Energy has announced plans to relocate to Cheshire, England, from its current headquarters in County Kildare, Ireland, after completing a significant funding round.

Imperative explained its decision to move to England with the expected growth of the biomass sector in the UK thanks to the government's Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Renewable Obligation scheme.

The Irish company also announced plans to invest as much as $317m in new biomass heat and combined heat and power (CHP) projects, creating 30 new jobs over the next few years.

Business Green reported on Tuesday that the key investors in the funding round were the North West Fund for Energy and Environmental (NWF4EE) and the Environmental Infrastructure Development Company (EIDC).
