CCPP demand drives gas turbine market in Asia-Pacific

Rising demand for eco-friendly cogeneration is driving growth in the Asia-Pacific gas turbine market, according to analysis by Frost & Sullivan.

The pattern is emerging as utilities and independent power producers are increasingly concerned about global warming and greenhouse gas emissions.

Revenues earned in the Asia-Pacific Gas Turbines Market are forecast to reach $13.16bn in 2016, rising from levels of about $10.99bn recorded in 2011.

"Gas turbines' high efficiency, operational flexibility, and low capital costs will ensure their steady adoption," said Subha Krishnan, Frost & Sullivan Energy & Environmental Research Analyst. "Ongoing research activities to further enhance gas turbine efficiency will aid market development."
