More CHP for UK Wilton site

Two multi million pound projects to generate additional steam and electrical power on the Wilton International site are taking shape.
Construction work on the new gas turbine and heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and four new package boilers is well underway, site owner SembCorp Utilities says in a statement.
The new £36 million (US$72 million) combined cycle plant was given the go ahead in March 2007 following the announcement by Ensus to build a bioethanol plant at Wilton which will supply a third of the UK's needs by 2010.
The gas turbine will be capable of supplying 40 MWe to Ensus while the steam generator will be able to supply up to 162 tonnes of steam an hour into the site system.
The construction work, carried out by Aker Kvaerner Engineering Services is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
The £7 million ($14 million) package boilers are being built by HKB Ketelbouw. Each will be capable of supplying an additional 30 tonnes of steam per hour and the project is expected to be operational in the next few months.
