Solar cogen study launched

Sustainable Heat & Power Europe GmbH (SHP) has received an order to execute solar measurements and pre-feasibility studies for so-called mini solar thermal power plants (MSTPP) for two sites in Northern Chile.
The orders were placed by Sociedad Chilena de Litio Ltda (SCL), a Chilean subsidiary of the German-American company the Chemetall Group.
The goal of the studies is to assess the technical and economical implementation of small, decentralized, solar thermal cogeneration power plants into the process chains of the production plants of SCL. The thermal energy will be used in the drying, cooling and heating of salts and brines.
The studies will be based on the high temperature Fresnel-collector of partner company Solar Power Group.
